Lou Cornum
Lou Cornum is a diasporic Diné born outside Phoenix, raised in various Arizona cities, and now living in Brooklyn, NY. They are a PhD candidate in the English program at the City University of New York Graduate Center, a senior editor of The New Inquiry, and a member of the editorial collective for LIES: a journal of materialist feminism. Their cultural criticism and science fiction writings have appeared in Art in America, Frieze, Kimiwan Zine, and the edited volume Read, Listen, Tell: Stories from Turtle Island published by Wilfred Laurier University Press. Their research broadly traces the relays and ruptures of decolonial thought between Black and Indigenous studies. They are interested in unsovereign forms of politics pursued and glimpsed in particular through readings of the world building possibilities of science fiction and smut. Side projects/obsessions include tracking the diffuse network of harm and relationality created by nuclear colonialism; mycology; otherwise outer space visions; and urban planning from below.
