Carolina García Cataño is one of the founders of Dabne—a free software women’s cooperative focused on bringing socially useful, free software solutions to the third sector. Since 2001 she has been actively involved in the Spanish free software community where she has participated in numerous hacklabs and hackmeetings. In 2011 after following the experience of how people took to the Tahrir Square in Cairo, 15M is Spain took place and she became involved in tomalaplaza and takethesquare which facilitated the creation of Occupy Wall street, She believed that a global revolution was knocking at the door, so she was part of the facilitation team of international outreach and international tech coordination for takethesquare. In Berlin, she is engaged with refugee support groups and takes part in a decentrelized network of supporters, which visit Lage. Now promoting of the work of Keur Gui Hiphop band from Senegal as vehicle to create bridges between Europe and Africa while creating political awareness.
